Jo Ann Hill

May 16, 1932 – August 25, 2026

Jo Ann Sharpe Hill, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, passed peacefully into the loving arms of the Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

Jo Ann was born on May 16, 1932, in Nashville, Tennessee, to John and Ava Sharpe. She and her family lived in Texarkana, Texas, from 1987 until 2022, when she moved to Frisco, Texas.

Jo Ann was a devoted homemaker who dedicated her life to caring for her husband and raising their four children. Her greatest joy was her family, and she devoted herself wholeheartedly to the people she loved. She was also a woman of deep faith and was a longtime member of Wake Village First Baptist Church, where she was actively involved in the life and ministry of the church.

Jo Ann also generously gave her time and heart to others through many years of volunteer service at The Friendship Center in Texarkana. Her kindness, compassion, and willingness to serve touched the lives of many.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Henry Andrew Hill, Sr., in 2012; her daughter, Starlet Hazelwood Brower, in 2010; and her son, Henry Andrew Hill, Jr., in 2001.

She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Sandy Hill of Frisco, Texas, and Dirk and Laura Hill of McCordsville, Indiana; her grandchildren, Joshua (Dodi) Hazelwood, Jared Hazelwood, Candice (Steve) Roudebush, Danielle Hill, Michael Hill, Dakota (Teagan) Hill, and Lexi Hill; ten great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many other beloved relatives and friends.

Jo Ann will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of faith, love, devotion, and service will continue through the generations of her family and all those whose lives she touched.

Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Chapelwood Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m., with her son, Rev. Dirk Kevin Hill, officiating.
