Texas A&M University-Texarkana will host Spring Fling ’17 April 17-21 on the A&M-Texarkana campus, 7101 University Ave., Texarkana, Texas.
“Spring Fling is a week-long series of fun and engaging programs that give students and the community the opportunity to let loose and de-stress just before buckling down for finals week,” said Celeste McNiel, director of Student Life.
On Monday, April 17, the First Year Experience office will host Plate Full of Fun at 6:30 p.m. at Bringle Lake Park West. The event will include games, music, food and more.
On Tuesday, April 18, there will be a Lip Sync Battle at 7 p.m. in Eagle Hall of the University Center on the A&M-Texarkana campus. Members of student organizations will battle it out with their best dance moves and lip sync skills in this event hosted by the Campus Activities Board.
On Wednesday, April 19, Alternative Pop, New Wave and Indie Rock band Polaroid Summer will play at 6 p.m. on the University Center deck in a concert hosted by the Student Government Association. The 2017-2018 SGA Elections results will be announced.
Award-winning poet, actor and writer Carlos Andres Gomez will headline Slam Poetry night Thursday, April 20, at 7 p.m. in Eagle Hall. Sponsored by the Program for Learning and Engagement and the Campus Activities Board, the event will feature a student poetry competition.
Disney movie, “Moana,” will be shown on Friday, April 21, at 8 p.m. on the University Center deck. Guests are encouraged to bring their own blankets to the movie.
All events are free and open to the public. Only current students may enter the Lip Sync Battle or the Slam Poetry contest.
