Michael Gentry, victim of the the hit and run back in May, has returned to ICU for a bone infection in his remaining limb.

Michael Gentry was severely injured when Angela Dawn Cox, 18, failed to stop and render aid when she hit him with her truck as Gentry was checking his mailbox.  The injuries he sustained were 20 broken bones in his right leg and his left leg left amputated.

Cox received a 10-year term of probation Monday for leaving the scene.

Gentry began rehabilitation last week on his right leg. However, after physical training, he noticed that it began swelling immensely and he feared an infection had set in.

Unfortunately, his worst fears were true and he was admitted for surgery Saturday morning to treat the bone infection.

“I’ll be honest, the highlight of my day was checking the mail.  I feel like there is nothing left for me in life, you know and now I’m losing limbs,” he said as he choked up and tears filled his eyes.

He continued, “I have no hate or anger for this girl, just want her to get help-maybe probation or treatment.”

Throughout all of this traumatic experience, Gentry has remained positive and selfless.
