The Texarkana Twins were back in action on their home turf to face the Texas Marshals for the first of a two-game series. The Twins came out ready to play, as every aspect of their game was on fire tonight.
The Texas Marshals jumped out to a quick 0-1 lead in the top of the 1st. The Twins answered right back scoring 2 in the bottom of the 1st to take the lead. Designated hitter, Jaylon Keys, led off with a single to give the Twins their first hit on the night. Centerfielder, Cam Hill, collected a RBI double to bring Keys in from first to put the Twins on the board. Cleanup hitter, Dylan Ditzeberger, pushed another run across with a sacrifice fly to centerfield giving the Twins a 2-1 lead.
The Twins expanded their lead in the bottom of the 4th. After two quick outs, Ditzenberger singled and advanced to second off a throwing error. With Ditzenberger on second and two outs right fielder, Avery George, smacked an RBI single to give the Twins a 3-1 lead. In the bottom of the 7th, the Twins put two more insurance runs on the board. After a hit by pitch and walk given up by the Marshals’ pitcher, catcher, Coltyn Kessler crushed a double to their lead to 5-1. After their off days, the Twins came out with a strong batting performance. Overall, they collected 8 hits on the night.
