Marilyn Francis Sallis, age 88, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 18, 2026, in Lewisville, Texas, surrounded by the family she loved. She was born on April 10, 1938, at Michael Meagher Memorial Hospital to her parents, Marguarite Frances Milam McAlister and Thomas Ervice McAlister.
Marilyn attended and graduated from Texas High School in Texarkana, Texas. During her school years, she formed lifelong friendships that continued into adulthood.
On July 16, 1955, Marilyn married John Edgar Sallis, and together they built a loving life and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Edgar Sallis; her parents, Thomas Ervice McAlister and Marguarite Frances Milam McAlister; her brothers, Thomas McAlister and Arthur Earl McAlister; and her grandson, Rodney Shaver.
Left to cherish her memory and carry on her legacy are her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Harry Dinsmore; son, John Sallis, Jr.; daughter, Lydia Sallis; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Carolyn Sallis; along with numerous family members and friends whose lives she touched throughout the years.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens in Nash, Texas.
