Two arrested in Dallas, third sought in Texarkana box truck theft and fireworks burglary

Two men are in custody in Dallas and a third remains at large after a box truck theft and a burglary at a Texarkana fireworks stand, the Texarkana, Arkansas, Police Department said.

Officers responded about 7 a.m. July 2 to a report that a box truck belonging to a local business had been stolen, police said. Soon after, investigators began looking into a burglary at a fireworks stand, where suspects forced their way in and took merchandise.

The department’s Criminal Investigation Division connected the two cases and worked with regional agencies to track the suspects, according to the release.

Two suspects were arrested in Dallas after a joint effort by TAPD, the Texarkana, Texas, Police Department, the Texas Department of Public Safety and Dallas SWAT, police said.

Raynard Hunt, 44, and Claude McQueen III, 36, are being held in Dallas. A third suspect, Quinton Haywood, 34, has not been taken into custody after fleeing from officers, police said.

All three have active felony warrants from TAPD charging two counts of theft of property over $25,000, commercial burglary, first-degree criminal mischief and two counts of engaging in a continuing criminal gang organization.

The box truck and the fireworks were recovered, police said.
