Lawson Murry Britton, 69, of Texarkana, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.

December 15, 1956 – July 29, 2026

Lawson was born on December 15, 1956, in Houston, Texas, to Christine Owens and William Britton Sr. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and later spent many years as a truck driver, a job that reflected his hardworking nature and dedication to providing for his family.

To know Lawson was to know someone who could make you smile. He loved watching old westerns, sharing stories, and making everyone around him laugh. Whether he was telling an old family tale, joking with his grandchildren, or simply sitting with the people he loved, Lawson had a way of making every moment feel special. He never met a stranger for long and had a gift for making people feel welcome.

More than anything else, Lawson loved his family. He was proud of his children and grandchildren, and some of his happiest moments were spent surrounded by them, laughing, reminiscing, and creating memories that will be treasured forever. His family remembers him as fun-loving, kindhearted, and full of life—a man whose love was shown not only through his words but through his presence, his laughter, and the time he gave to those he loved.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Christine Owens and William Britton Sr., and his sister, Deborah Stark.

Left to cherish his memory are sons, Gregory Britton and wife, Britteny, David Britton, and Bradley Britton; grandchildren, Briona Britton-Terry, Sierra Davidson; Alyssa Britton; great-grandchildren, Juniper Davidson and Soren Davidson; brothers, Steve Brown and Tom Brown, William Britton Jr., and James Britton; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends who were blessed to know him.

My Sincere Condolences. I went to school with Lawson he was a kind , funny guy. I then met his sweet wife and children a few years later , we all became friends. May Lawson rest in sweet peace until we All meet again in Heaven 😇

Lawson, we spent many years together that I will always cherish. We had 3 wonderful sons that will always remind me of you and the love we once shared. R.I.P.
