Patricia Bernice Harvey Mortensen, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, registered nurse, and faithful Christian, was born on April 29, 1943, in Beaumont, Texas. She passed on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
After graduating from Texas High School and Texarkana College, Patricia began a nursing career that spanned more than 40 years, all of which she spent with CHRISTUS St. Michael. She served the Texarkana community with compassion, kindness, and professionalism, touching the lives of countless patients and their families.
A lifelong member of Walnut Church of Christ, Patricia shared her faith and love of Scripture as a Bible school teacher, encouraging others in their Christian walk.
Above all, Patricia treasured her family. She shared 62 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Bill Mortensen. Together, they built a life grounded in love, faith, and devotion.
Patricia is survived by her husband of 62 years, Bill Mortensen; her son, Will Mortensen of Texarkana, Texas; her grandson, Todd Mortensen, and his wife, Miranda; her grandsons, Henry Mortensen and Samuel Patrick Mortensen, both of Dallas, Texas; and her brother, Raymond Charles Harvey, and his wife, Gayle Harvey, of Texarkana.
Patricia will be remembered for her compassionate spirit, steadfast faith, dedication to nursing, and deep love for her family. Her memory will be cherished by her family, church family, friends, former colleagues, and the many people whose lives she touched.
Pat's funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Texarkana Funeral Home-Texas Blvd. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Chapelwood Cemetery in Nash Texas.
