Othal Turner, age 89, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2026. She was born on January 18, 1937, in Haworth, Oklahoma, to August and Bessie Ray.
Othal retired from Union Pacific Railroad after many years of dedicated work. She found great joy in spending time with her family, especially attending her grandchildren’s ball games. She was often the loudest fan in the crowd, cheering them on with all her heart.
Othal was a wonderful mother and grandmother who was always there when her family needed her. She was someone you could turn to for help, comfort, and encouragement. She had a positive outlook on life and always found the good in whatever situation she faced.
She was preceded in death by her parents; August and Bessie Ray; daughter, Gayla Turner; sister, Dollie Riggs; and two brothers; Rex Ray and Pete Ray.
She is survived by her children, Buster Turner and wife Chan of Tyler, TX, Bo Turner and wife Jeanne of Norman, OK, Shane Turner and wife Garyan of Texarkana, TX; 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Chapelwood Funeral Home with Bro. Wallace Edgar officiating. Burial will follow at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens.
