Miller County prosecutors file 18-count child sexual abuse material case against 18-year-old
TEXARKANA, Ark. – Miller County prosecutors on Friday formally charged an 18-year-old arrested by Arkansas State Police in August with distributing, possessing or viewing child sexual abuse material, in a criminal information that describes 18 felony counts.
Tyler Kayne Drury was arrested Aug. 10 and made his first court appearance Aug. 12, when a Miller County judge set his bond at $50,000 and appointed the public defender’s office to represent him, according to the record of that appearance filed in the case. He was advised of 13 counts at the time.
The information, filed Friday afternoon by Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Jon Beck on behalf of Prosecuting Attorney Connie Mitchell, charges Drury under the Arkansas law that makes it a crime to receive, distribute, possess or view any photograph, video or computer file that depicts a child engaging in sexually explicit conduct. Each count is a Class C felony punishable by three to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
The counts are tied to four dates. One is April 24, 2024, when court records list Drury’s age as 16. Seven are dated May 16, 2026, eight are dated June 22, 2026, and two are dated June 28, 2026.
The case is assigned to Circuit Judge Carlton Jones.
No affidavit or police narrative was filed with the information, so the court file does not say how the investigation began, what was found or where. The first-appearance form lists Arkansas State Police as the arresting agency. ASP has not announced the arrest.
Drury remained in the Miller County jail Friday night, according to the Arkansas VINE custody system, which draws its records from the Miller County Sheriff’s Office. The jail record also lists a felony theft of property charge dated Aug. 10, the day of his arrest, with a $1,000 bond. No theft case appears under his name in state court records.
The case is separate from one announced by ASP in July, when the agency’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, the FBI and the Miller County SWAT team searched a home on Old Harrison Chapel Road in Texarkana and arrested a 17-year-old on 99 counts of the same offense. That teen’s bond was set at $100,000.
