
Hope man arrested in July shooting death of Paris, Texas man
HOPE, Ark. — A 19-year-old Hope man is in custody in connection with a July shooting that killed a Paris, Texas, man and wounded a teenage girl.
Detectives arrested Kevin Lozano on Thursday at 1:27 p.m. in the 900 block of South Elm Street. He was taken into custody on a warrant issued by the 8th North Circuit Court charging him with first-degree murder and first-degree battery.
The charges stem from a July 17 shooting in the 1000 block of West Seventh Street. Gabriel Trujillo Garcia of Paris, Texas, died in the shooting. A juvenile female was also shot and survived.
Lozano was booked into the Hempstead County Detention Facility. He is being held pending a first court appearance.
The case remains under active investigation.
Charges are accusations. Lozano is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
