The intimate videos had reportedly been shared between the woman and Smith’s boyfriend when they were dating and the woman had expected them to remain private, the affidavit said.

The boyfriend allegedly told an investigator with the Bowie County Sheriff’s Office that Smith had accessed his cell phone and posted the videos without his knowledge.

Smith allegedly failed to show for a scheduled interview with a member of the Bowie County Sheriff’s Office in March last year and allegedly told an investigator over the phone that she was “negotiating” with the alleged victim

Smith allegedly attempted to pay the woman in exchange for dropping the charge. The alleged victim told law enforcement that Smith had sent her an undisclosed amount of money on CashApp but that she had declined the funds and wanted to pursue criminal charges for the alleged invasion of her privacy.

Smith is currently free on a $15,000 personal recognizance bond, according to the Bowie County Sheriff’s Office.

The case has been assigned to 202nd District Judge John Tidwell.

Smith is represented by the Bowie County Public Defender’s Office.
