A Bowie County man is in jail after Bowie County SHeriff’s Office received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) about a person with an internet protocol (IP) address in Bowie County transmitting child pornography.

According to the sheriff’s office, using the IP address given, Investigator Chris Sutherland was able to determine that the illegal images were accessed over the internet from a residence in the 2500 block of South State Line Avenue belonging to Kenneth Callaway Jr. who resides at this location.

Callaway agreed to let the two deputies search his computer and two other hard drives that he informed them of as well as accompany the pair to the Bi-State Building while they did so.

According to police thousands of pictures of children engaged in various lewd sexual acts were located during this search.
Callaway admitted to the deputies that he had downloaded all the photographs they located on his computer and hard drives.

He was then arrested for Possession of Child Pornography and booked into the Bi-State Jail. Judge Nancy Talley later set Mr. Callaway’s bond at $100,000.00.

He remains in custody at the Bi-State Jail at this time.
