A&M-Texarkana TRiO Student Support Services recognizes award winners


More than 80 students were recognized for outstanding achievements at the first-ever TRiO Student Support Services awards banquet March 9 at Texas A&M University-Texarkana.


Mary White, director of the TRiO Student Support Services program at the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana, served as guest speaker for the event. She encouraged TRiO participants to reach for the stars and to make the most of their educational opportunities.


Dr. Tonya Hill, director of TRiO Student Support Services at A&M-Texarkana, said students in the federally funded initiative have exceled during the program’s first year with a 95 percent success rate.


Dr. Hill, along with Coordinator of TRiO Student Support Services Brittany Barnett and Administrative Associate Dustin Nix, presented the following awards:
