Tonight at 6 p.m. there is a scheduled meeting of the Texarkana, Arkansas Planning Commission at the Texarkana, Ark City Hall.
Among the items slated for discussion is the proposed downtown Entertainment District.
This ordinance is in the final planning stages, and the time for public input to be considered is evaporating.
Citizens of Texarkana who would like to share their ideas or concerns about the Entertainment District are asked to attend this meeting.
An eighteen-year veteran of the Planning Commission, Adger Smith says, “Its time for the public to give us some input.” Going on to say that the Planning Commission does a great deal of work behind the scenes with the nuts and bolts of an issue.
The revised ordinance will be heard and potentially read at the next Texarkana, Arkansas Board of Directors meeting this Monday at 6 p.m.
Anyone who could be potentially affected, for better or worse by Texarkana’s new Entertainment District is urged to attend tonight’s meeting. As Mr. Smith says, “The public needs to step-up and tell us what they want.”
