Each year Workforce Solutions Northeast Texas hosts one of the largest Career and Community Resources Expos in the area. Representatives from area businesses will promote the job opportunities available in the region. This Expo provides job seekers with a great opportunity to connect and speak directly to hiring managers in the region and provides employers the opportunity to showcase available services and positions. The 2016 Career and Community Resources Expo will be held on Tuesday, March 29 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Texarkana Convention Center, 4610 Cowhorn Creek.

A few things to consider prior to attending the Expo:
Come “dressed to impress” – First impressions are critical. Dressing properly can provide a competitive advantage in the job market. Dress for success!

Have plenty of copies of your resume – A resume provides job seekers the opportunity to leave a lasting impression with employers.
For assistance with resume writing, a Resume Creation Course will be held on March 22, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the Greater Texarkana
Workforce Center, 1702 Hampton Road. Representatives are available to review resumes, prior to the event.

Know the participating employers/organizations – A list of participating employers and organizations can be found at www.netxworkforce.org.

Ask questions and have answers – Be ready to answer employers’ questions and ask the employers questions. Do not focus on what the employer can do for you, but tell the employer what you can do for them.
