Little River County Man Takes Sheriff’s Department on Chase with Wife and Small Child in Vehicle

Casey Tallant took Little River County Sheriff’s Office on a chase near the Oklahoma border on Monday.

Tallant was wanted for a parole violation and a misdemeanor arrest warrant for failing ot appear in court.

A Little River County Sheriff’s Officer spotted Tallant when he was out on patrol and spotted the Tallant’s vehicle, according to Little River County Sheriff Gary Gregory. “At that point a pursuit started. An officer and chief deputy that was a backup officer pursued the individual. As the chase went on, he had come to wreck out our Sheriff Department vehicle

The chase went from Highway 234 on to a dirt road that is the boundary between Arkansas and Oklahoma, stated Gregory.

“He fled down the road and kept hitting his brakes trying to force the officer to hit his vehicle. As they went to take a turn, he went to go off into Oklahoma. Tallant kept hitting his brakes causing a lot of dust to fly everywhere. Tallant struck our
vehicle that caused our to spin and wreck out,” stated Gregory.

The fugitive, Casey Tallant, is still on the run.

“Our officer was taken to Little River County Hospital for treatment,” stated Gregory.

Tallant’s wife was interviewed Monday evening at the Little River Sheriff’s Office by the Arkansas State Police. “Tallant’s wife and a small child were in the vheicle while Tallant was doing evasive driving and trying to take out our vehicle,” stated Gregory.
