Chamber to Host Veterans Luncheon on November 14

The Texarkana USA Chamber of Commerce will host a Veterans Luncheon on November 14 at 11:00 AM in Eagle Hall on the Texas A&M University – Texarkana campus. The luncheon is free for all veterans that RSVP before November 12, and $30 for anyone else. Seating is limited so reservations are required, Veterans must present valid ID at the event. 

 

The luncheon, presented by Farmers Bank & Trust, will feature CPL Jacob Schick as the keynote speaker. Jake is a third-generation Marine, motivational speaker and actor who epitomizes service and sacrifice.

 

Jake has become a staunch advocate for maximizing the potential in people from all walks of life and shares his story and the effects of being severely wounded at public speaking engagements throughout the country. He motivates people to be better tomorrow than they were today and raise awareness to the epidemic of the 22 warriors that die by suicide every day.

 

Jake is currently the CEO of 22KILL, an organization that has created a community that raises awareness and combats suicide by empowering veterans, first responders, and their families through traditional and non-traditional therapies.

 

Jake has been featured in roles in Clint Eastwood’s productions’ of “American Sniper,” and “The Mule,” and has appeared in Bradley Cooper’s production of, “A Star is Born.” You can read more about Jake on his website http://jacobschick.net
