The ordinance establishing an entertainment district in downtown Texarkana, Arkansas has gone into effect. This fourteen block zone will allow adults to consume adult beverages out-of-doors in approved containers as long as the drinks are purchased from establishments within the entertainment district, excluding the Rock House liquor store.

Signage is posted with hours of operation at the corners of the district with a green stripe on the road to distinguish the boundary further.

There will be a ‘toast’ at Hopkins Icehouse today at noon to usher in a new era for Texarkana’s entertainment scene. Those who take part in the toast, but do not finish all of their beverage will now have the option to get it in a to-go cup and enjoy as they stroll the downtown streets of Texarkana.

Local entrepreneur David Peavy said, “The entertainment district will reinvent the downtown into a true Arts and Entertainment destination for locals and visitors. The transformation of our city has began.”

Below is a list of the happenings tomorrow night in our new Rail Yard Entertainment District. Note: Trophy Husband will not be at The Paragon due to unforeseen circumstances.
