On Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at 5:00am Texarkana Arkansas Police was dispatched to the 3200 block of E. 9th Street, Commercial National Bank, in reference to a possible robbery in progress. Dispatch advised Officers that a witness was driving by the bank when they observed a white van ram into the bank ATM, knocking it to the ground, and attempting to get money from inside it. The witness said that the suspect, wearing a mask, fled on foot from the bank.

According to Texarkana, Ark. Police Department spokesperson Corporal Kristi Bennett, “once Officers arrived they located the van still on scene, disabled due to crashing into the ATM.” It was determined that the suspect did not gain entry to the ATM safe where the cash was safely located.

While Officers continued the investigation TAPD received a burglary call in the 3200 block of East Broad Street. Officers responded to the business where it was determined that an unknown suspect forced entry to the building stole several vehicle keys and then stole a vehicle with a trailer attached.

It was then determined that the stolen vehicle was in fact the same vehicle used in the previous incident at the bank earlier this morning.

Anyone with information can contact the Texarkana Arkansas Police at 903-798-3154 or the Texarkana area Crime Stoppers at 903-793-STOP.
