Texas and Arkansas Voter Registration Deadlines

The 2016 Elections are right around the corner and the deadlines are fast approaching.

The deadline to register in Arkansas is Monday, Oct. 10; this includes by mail or in person registration.

Arkansas residents must register by the end of the business day on Monday, October 10.

Texas residents have until Tuesday, Oct. 11 to register to vote.

Voter registration forms are available online as well as your county voter registrar’s office or at other locations such as libraries, government offices, or high schools.

If you are a Bowie County resident registering in Texas, you can also print out the form and mail it to BOWIE COUNTY Elections Administrator George A. Steal at 710 James Bowie Dr New Boston 75570. If you are a Miller County resident registering to vote in Arkansas, mail registration form to MILLER COUNTY Miller County Clerk Stephanie Harvin 400 Laurel Street, Room 105 Texarkana, AR 71854.

According to VoteTexas.gov, you are eligible to register to vote if:

You are a United States citizen
You are a resident of the county where you submit the application
You are at least 18 years old on Election Day
You are not a convicted felon (you may be eligible to vote if you have completed your sentence, probation, and parole)
You have not been declared by a court exercising probate jurisdiction to be either totally mentally incapacitated or partially mentally incapacitated without the right to vote.

If you have already registered to vote, double check to make sure their registration is current and correct. Early voting will also be available starting October 19th.

You must vote in your assigned precinct on Election Day.
