Texarkana, Arkansas Police Department arrested 24 year-old Akirrah Galley-Booker for aggravated assault Sunday evening after allegedly running down a juvenile with her car during a disturbance.

According to TAPD Lieutenant Todd Harness at 10:15 Sunday night officers responded to a residence located in the 900 block of Ferguson Street in reference to a hit and run accident involving a pedestrian.

“During their investigation, officers learned the 17 year-old juvenile victim was standing on Spring Street just west of the street’s intersection with Ferguson Street,” said Harness. “The victim and the witnesses encountered a white Chevrolet Impala which had turned west onto Spring Street from Ferguson Street. ”

“As the vehicle passed the victim and the witnesses, a verbal disturbance ensued between the driver and the pedestrians standing in the street.  Ultimately, the driver of the Chevrolet Impala turned the vehicle around, began traveling east towards Ferguson Street and collided with the juvenile victim.  The driver and the vehicle fled the scene following the vehicle’s collision with the victim.  The investigation eventually led officers to locate the driver of the vehicle shortly later in the parking lot of a business.”

Officers arrested 24 year-old Akirrah Gulley-Booker and charged her with aggravated assault.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where she began receiving treatment for her injuries, which were not life threatening in nature.
