Texarkana Educator Lisa Zach's Journey in Education

TEXARKANA, Texas — What began with helping a single struggling Calculus student has grown into one of the Ark-La-Tex’s most respected college readiness programs. Texarkana Educator Lisa Zach is part of the national educational consulting team at ZachsMath.

Lisa Zach, founder of ZachsMath, LLC, has been accepted as a Showcase Member of the National Test Prep Association (NTPA) and has been designated an Official ACT Affiliate Tutor—two national professional distinctions recognizing excellence in ACT instruction, ethical educational practices, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.

For Zach, who spent ten years in the public classroom, the recognition is less about personal achievement and more about expanding opportunities for students and schools throughout the region.

“Years ago, I never imagined owning a tutoring company,” Zach said. “A former student’s parent reached out because her son was struggling in Calculus. I agreed to help one student. In three months, that one student became six. Six became ten. Before I knew it, I realized that I had found my true calling.”

Today, ZachsMath serves students from across Texas and Arkansas, helping them strengthen academic skills, prepare for the ACT, and compete for college admissions and scholarship opportunities. Through individualized instruction and evidence-based teaching strategies, Zach has helped hundreds of students increase their ACT scores and gain entrance into top universities across the country.

The National Test Prep Association is the leading professional organization for independent test preparation specialists, recognizing educators who demonstrate expertise, integrity, and a commitment to best practices in student instruction.

The ACT Affiliate Tutor designation is awarded to educators who have demonstrated exceptional knowledge of the ACT exam and maintain high professional standards through continued training and collaboration. Zach is one of seven ACT Affiliate Tutors in Texas and currently serves a region that has no Affiliate Tutors in Arkansas or Louisiana, bringing nationally recognized ACT expertise directly to families throughout the Ark-La-Tex.

“Students in our area deserve the same quality of educational support that’s available in larger metropolitan areas,” Zach said. “I’m grateful to bring these resources home to the community that has supported me from the beginning.”

The national recognition also marks the next chapter for ZachsMath. In addition to continuing private tutoring, Zach is expanding her work as an Educational Consultant, partnering with school districts, campuses, and educational organizations to strengthen college readiness initiatives.

Her consulting services include:

• ACT and college readiness program development

• Professional development for educators

• Curriculum and instructional support

• Student performance and assessment analysis

• Strategic planning for improving ACT outcomes

• Parent and community workshops focused on college admissions and scholarships

Earlier this year, Zach was recommended to serve as an ACT consultant supporting Arkansas school districts through the Arkansas GEAR UP initiative, reflecting a growing demand for her expertise beyond individual student instruction.

“I believe one of the best ways to help students is to support the educators who serve them every day,” Zach said. “If I can help teachers, counselors, and administrators build systems that create more opportunities for students, then those benefits extend far beyond any one classroom.”

Founded in Texarkana, ZachsMath has become known for combining personalized instruction with research-based teaching methods, helping students not only improve their test scores but also develop the confidence and critical thinking skills that prepare them for college and beyond.

As Zach begins this new chapter, her mission remains unchanged.
