With broken hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Momma, GiGi, sister, and friend, Michele Dawn Reese. She passed away in the presence of her family, holding her hands. Her last words to us were, “I love you,” and we know she did with every ounce of her being. While our hearts ache with the loss of her, we find comfort in knowing that the love she poured into her family will live on forever.
She was born on October 29th, 1967, in Overton, TX and was employed by Goodyear, previously Cooper Tire & Rubber Co., where she worked for 27 years. She loved her job and, more importantly, loved all the customers that she met, many becoming fast friends with “the only lady at Cooper Service.”
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Reese; her parents, Larry and Sherry Hutto; and her sister, Tanneja Doughty.
She is survived by her three daughters: Meagan Dunn and husband Kenny, Morgan Greer and husband Freddie, and Macie Ames and husband Michael; her brother, Tony Hutto; and her grandchildren: Rylan, Grayson, Merritt, Hollis, and Maylin.
Our mom’s greatest joy in life was her family. She loved her girls with everything she had, and there was never a question of whether she would show up. From being the #1 PTA mom and dance recitals to birthdays, holidays, and life’s biggest milestones, she was always there; our biggest supporter, #1 fan, our safe place, and our home.
Becoming “GiGi” was one of the greatest blessings of her life. She adored each of her grandchildren beyond measure and was blessed to be present for the birth of every single one of them. From their very first breath, she loved them fiercely, and she treasured every moment she was given to watch them grow. They truly were the light of her life.
She also found peace at the beach. The sound of the waves, the warmth of the sun, brought her a special kind of happiness. It was a place where she felt free and one that will forever remind us of her.
She leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family. She taught us that the greatest gift you can give the people you love is simply to be there, as she always was, anytime we called.
Though we will miss her every single day, we will carry her with us in every celebration, every trip to the beach, and every moment we choose to love each other the way she loved us.
A girl will always need her momma. That longing never goes away, no matter how old she is. We will miss her voice, her hugs, her chicken & rice soup when we were sick, and the comfort that only she could give. Until we meet again, we will hold her in our hearts, honor her by loving one another well, and be forever grateful that we were lucky enough to call her ours.
We love you to the moon and back, Momma.
