Bowie County Elections Office Recognizes National Voter Registration Day on Sept. 15

The Bowie County Elections Office is joining communities across the nation in recognizing National Voter Registration Day on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.

National Voter Registration Day is a nonpartisan civic holiday dedicated to helping eligible citizens register to vote, update their voter registration information, and become #VoteReady for upcoming elections.

“National Voter Registration Day provides an important opportunity to remind our community that being prepared to vote begins with making sure your voter registration information is accurate and up to date,” said Pat McCoy, Bowie County Election Administrator. “Our office is committed to providing voters with accurate, nonpartisan information and making the voter registration process as accessible as possible.”

Voters are encouraged to take a few minutes on September 15 to:

  • Check their voter registration status;
  • Update their registration information if they have moved or their information has changed;
  • Register to vote if they are eligible and not currently registered; and
  • Learn about upcoming elections, voting options, and important election deadlines.

Voter registration requirements and deadlines vary by state, but residents of Bowie County can obtain official information about registration and elections through the Bowie County Election Webpage or through the Texas Secretary of State at votetexas.gov.
