Linda Gail Carlile, 77, of Redwater, Texas, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2026. She was born September 6, 1946, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, to Bessie and Dale Brown.
Linda was a woman who loved deeply, worked hard, and never seemed to run out of energy. For more than 40 years, she cared for countless mothers and babies as a Labor and Delivery RN at Wadley. Caring for others came naturally to her, and she brought that same love and devotion home to her family.
She loved the simple things in life-fishing, mowing, being outdoors, and especially spending time with the people she loved. Her family knew her as loving, caring, strong, and full of life. She had a way of making her presence known, and her absence will be felt in so many little moments and memories.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Claude Carlile; her parents, Bessie and Dale Brown; and her sister, Shirley Pumphiey.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Kevin Carlile and wife April, Scott Carlile and wife Aaron, and Shannon Carlile, all of Redwater; her nine grandchildren, Ryan, Shelby, Carson, Dylan, Reghan, Brody, Braven, Kaylee, and Braylee; and her six great-grandchildren, Kayson, Blaize, Berkley, Kashton, Huxton, and Pierceton. She is also survived by her brother, Gary Brown; her sister Pat Brown, along with numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Chapelwood Funeral Home. Visitation will be held an hour prior to service.
Linda gave so much of herself to the people she loved. Her family was her greatest joy, and the love she gave them will continue through every story, every memory, and every generation she leaves behind.
