2019 Agent Barry Live United Bowl

The seventh annual Agent Barry LIVE UNITED Bowl is scheduled for Saturday, December 7st at Texarkana Arkansas School District’s Razorback Stadium. Kick-off will be at 12 noon.

The LIVE UNITED Bowl committee announced, during a press conference on Tuesday, November 19, the bowl team selections. The host team from the Great American Conference will be the Henderson State University-Arkadelphia Reddies who finished 9-2 for the year and coached by Scott Maxfield. The Reddies opponent, from the MIAA Conference, will be the Missouri Western State University Griffons from St. Joseph, Missouri with a winning record of 8-3, coached by Matt Williamson.

Teams arrive late afternoon on Thursday, December 5th at their hotels within the Texarkana Arkansas Crossroads Business Park. In an effort to give the universities taste of the Texarkana community, teams will participate in local community events on both Thursday and Friday. Thursday will be a combined event with teams working to help pack meals for a community outreach program. Friday will include visits to some of the United Way agencies with late afternoon football practice which will be open to the public.

The Jeans, Boots and BBQ Banquet will be held from 6:30-8:00 pm on Friday, December 6, at Texas High School on Kennedy Lane. Tickets are limited and are on sale, online-only, for $25 per person at www.liveunitedbowl.com.

The community pep rally will follow the banquet at 8:00 pm, also at Texas High School on Kennedy Lane. Admission is free and open to the public.

This year’s banquet will feature a special guest appearance by four-time High School State Champion football coach and pastor, Billy Dawson. Dawson won three of the four Arkansas state football titles at Nashville High School from 2005-09 and one as Russellville High School coach in 2016. Dawson served as offensive coordinator at Arkansas Tech University and is currently working in a private business.

Game Day Saturday starts off with parking lot gates opening for tailgate set-up at 8:00 am. Stadium access gates open at 10:00 am. Miss Texas Outstanding Teen, Allie Graves, will perform the National Anthem prior to the game’s kick-off.

Tickets are on sale now at any MilWay Federal Credit Union location. Tickets are $10 for adults and $4 for Students. Adult tickets can also be purchased online at www.liveunitedbowl.com. Student tickets are NOT available online but can be purchased at any of the above locations or at the gate. The local benefactor of this event is the United Way of Greater Texarkana. Anyone interested in volunteering can sign up through the website.
