Hallie Grace Harris is a 7-year-old second grade student at Trice Elementary School. She decided that she wanted to help make the world a better place.

With the colder weather coming she decided to do the blanket drive. She wanted to be able to make a big impact on people’s lives in our area so she talked to the radio station about letting people know.

She tells people she wants to keep Texarkana Toasty!

The idea is that this will raise awareness for others to help too. She already wants to plan a food drive too.

“For her birthday party this year she asked for her friends to bring dog food instead of gifts…and she donated it to local rescues. She seems so happy when she gets to give to others and it warms my heart that she has a giving heart,” Jamie Harris, Hallie’s mother said.

Harris continued by saying Hallie is so cute she comes to where one of the drop boxes are at and she looks to see if anyone has dropped anything. Hallie gets so excited when they have.

The best way to help Keep Texarkana Toasty is to drop off supplies at the TASD Administration building located at 3435 Jefferson Ave. before Nov. 22, 2015.

You can also drop supplies off at the Texarkana Radio Center at 615 Olive St. in historic downtown Texarkana. For more information call 903-276-2906.

The hope is that Hallie will help inspire everyone to do for others, especially those less fortunate.
