CHRISTUS St. Michael Rehabilitation Hospital hosts 22nd Annual Rehab Reunion

CHRISTUS St. Michael Rehabilitation Hospital hosted its 22nd Annual Rehab Reunion on Thursday, September 22nd during which they honored and entertained patients who have undergone care at their facilities. This event commemorated the accomplishments and progress of their valued rehab family.

CHRISTUS St. Michael Rehabilitation Hospital helps individuals who have suffered a stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, heart attack, amputation, neuro or muscular-skeletal disorder, or other serious injuries. Their specially trained staff dedicates themselves to helping men and women regain their independence and return home as soon as possible.

During this annual event, CHRISTUS St. Michael’s staff prepared music pieces, skits, and gave out door prizes to entertain and honor former and current rehabilitation patients.

“Inspiration Patients” were chosen to share their testimonials of how rehabilitation has helped them to overcome adversity and allowed them to live their life to the fullest.

This year’s Rehab Reunion theme was “There’s No Place Like Rehab,” featuring music performed by the Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab participants, a skit, and presentations by “inspiration patients.”

“We put on this event every year to really thank our patients for choosing us as their rehabilitation center. It’s an inspiration to our staff when patients come back and we can see how far they have progressed. It’s also very inspiring to our former and current patients, and you can really see that today by seeing the smiles on all of their faces,” said Administrator/Chief Nursing Officer, Cookie Gender, RN, MSN, CRRN.
