Texarkana TX – Patients looking to obtain high-quality primary care services have a brand-new option with the addition of Priyal Patel, M.D., to the CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic – Texarkana team.

“Providing excellent, compassionate care to the people of this area is something we are all passionate about, and Dr. Patel fits perfectly with that vision,” said Brent Bennett, M.D., Primary Care Operations Chief at CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic in Texarkana. “At CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic our philosophy is consistent and direct: we are dedicated to quality, compassionate care for the entire family. We offer you a medical home and work in partnership with you to maintain your health with preventive care and treatment of illnesses and injuries. When serious health problems strike, your primary care provider guides you to the appropriate specialty care.”

Dr. Patel joins the CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic – Texarkana team after completing her residency in Family Medicine at the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences facility in Texarkana and her medical degree at American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. Dr. Patel is already familiar with the patients of Texarkana and has been serving them at CHRISTUS St. Michael during her residency, as well as during her time moonlighting in the Ashdown Emergency Center. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Board of Family Medicine and has participated in Wild About Wellness and the MASH Summer Program in Texarkana.

“We have an outstanding team here, and Dr. Patel brings an outstanding attitude and incredible skill set to the patients and communities we serve,” said Bertels. “She will be an invaluable asset to CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic and an important resource in offering the highest levels of care to our patients in this community.”

“I believe it is important for everyone to establish a close, working relationship with their primary care provider,” said Dr. Patel. “When patient and provider work together and communicate well, the results improve dramatically for the patients – they live healthier lives, and we are able to manage and even prevent many chronic or long-term conditions. I am excited to begin working at CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic and continue my lifelong goal to serve patients in an area that is in need of these crucial primary care services.”

Dr. Patel will be seeing primary care patients in her office, located within the CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic Urgent Care facility located at 910 James Bowie Drive, in New Boston. Patients can get more information or book appointments by calling 903-614-5950.

In addition to the visits to a primary care provider for flu shots, cold/fever treatment, chronic care (like COPD or high cholesterol visits), pediatrics and the standard checkups and sick visits, patients will also have direct access to Urgent Care at this location. Urgent care is where patients can go when the primary care provider’s office is closed, and you encounter an unexpected medical problem and need medical treatment. And, in an emergency, always call 911 or visit the Emergency Room immediately.
