Friends of Scouting Aims to Raise $250,000

Caddo Area Council held the 2015 friends of scouting luncheon Friday February 20, 2015 at The Truman Arnold Center at Texarkana College.

According to Texarkana College President and Friends of Scouting Chairman, James Henry Russell, over $151,000 was pledged before today’s event out of total goal of $250,000.

Texana Bank donated $25,000 and The Texas Pioneer Foundation donated $10,000.

Over 250 people attended the luncheon that showed scouting videos and heard from speakers about how scouting had changed their life.

Eagle scouts William Wolf and Shivic Sharma told the audience of important skills learned in scouting and the fond memories made. Laura Jenkins the mother of a recent Troop 16 eagle scout told of the ways scouting benefited her child.

Members of Troop 208 provided the closing prayer for the lunch.
