In case you did not hear about Girl Scout Cookie Restaurant Week, you still have a few more days to enjoy these popular cookie flavors in a whole new way.

Cookie Restaurant Week is Monday, April 4 – Sunday, April 10, 2016 and consists of restaurants in all regional areas joining forces to experiment with their favorite Girl Scout Cookie.

During this week, restaurants choose their favorite girl scout cookie and offer their dessert creation as a special.

Eight restaurants, in each regional area, were invited to participate, two here in Texarkana. Bryce’s cafeteria and Julie’s Deli participated in this event.

“We are always excited to work with our local kids. Our Girl Scouts are such a powerful female force so any way we can support them, we are excited,” said Executive Chef, Jennifer Tanner.

Julie’s Deli has created a delicious cupcake inspired by one of the girl scout cookies flavor. “We picked Tagalong as our cookie of choice. This event took place this week but the cupcake has been such a big hit, we are going to run it for two weeks,” explained Tanner.

“The cupcake is a combination of chocolate cake, peanut butter cake, peanut butter cream, and a tagalong cookie. It’s better on better on better,” explained Tanner. “We are not selling boxes of cookies but we are advertising for the cookies as well as introducing the cookie flavors in a new way.”

Julie’s Deli will continue to sell this tagalong cupcake until next week.

Bryce’s cafeteria chose thin mints for its cookie of choice and has created a mint cake and chocolate mint pie as their dessert creation. They will be selling these delicious desserts until Sunday.

This week long event allows Girl Scouts to earn a Girl Scout Cookie Restaurant Week patch. This week, passport menus will be offered for pick-up in all Girl Scouts – Diamonds regional shops during the month of March. A Girl Scout is to take her passport menu with her to a minimum of 2 participating restaurants, order the Girl Scout Cookie dessert, and ask the restaurant to punch the passport menu as proof.
