Kiwanis Club of Texarkana Presents $5,131.35 Donation to Beds for Kids

The Kiwanis Club of Texarkana presented a donation of $5,131.35 to Beds for Kids, supporting the organization’s continued work to provide beds and essential resources to children in need throughout the Texarkana community.

The funds were raised during the 2026 Texas-Oklahoma Kiwanis District Convention, hosted in Texarkana in July. Through the generosity of convention attendees and community supporters, funds were generated through the convention’s Silent Auction and SINGO fundraisers.

Beds for Kids works with local agencies and community partners to identify children who do not have a safe or adequate place to sleep. Since its founding in 2018, the organization has provided more than 1,000 beds to area children and continues to see a growing need for its services.

“It is because of the generosity of our community partners who donated to our Silent Auction that we were able to raise these funds and support such a meaningful cause,” said Destiny Carter, President of the Kiwanis Club of Texarkana. “We are incredibly grateful for their continued support and commitment to helping children right here in our community.”

“Beds for Kids represents exactly the kind of local impact Kiwanis is proud to support,” said Barbara Walker, President-Elect of the Kiwanis Club of Texarkana and Chair of the 2026 Texas-Oklahoma District Convention.

The Kiwanis Club of Texarkana extends its appreciation to the businesses, organizations and individuals who donated items to the Silent Auction, participated in SINGO, volunteered and supported the convention. Their generosity made this contribution possible and will help Beds for Kids continue serving children and families throughout the community.
