8:15 a.m. Thursday | A man was shot in the chest Thursday morning on Crockett Street at 15th Street.
Callers reported the man was shot in the chest by another man who was now walking away from the scene.
When the first Texarkana, Texas Police officer arrived on scene he reported the victim was laying in the street with a handgun next to him.
It did not appear the victim made it as first responders were no longer working on him.
According to Texarkana, Texas Police Department the suspect is currently in custody.
