Pursuit that started in Little River County ends on Summerhill Rd.

2:00 p.m. Thursday | A pursuit that started in Ashdown, Ark. ended after the suspect lost control of his vehicle and got stuck in a field on Summerhill Rd.

Kendaris Burris, 31 of Ashdown, Arkansas was arrested by Texarkana, Texas Police.

According to radio traffic the suspect had felony warrants and was being pursued by Little River, Ark. deputies and Ashdown Police officers. The suspect turned onto County Road 2320 (Bootleg Rd.) from Highway 71 and then proceeded north on Summerhill Rd. at a high speed.

Bowie County Sheriff’s Office Deputies, Texarkana, Texas Police Department, and Texas DPS Troopers all converged on the area to provide assistance.

The Arkansas units lost the suspect vehicle as it was heading north on Summerhill. As officers were calling off the chase Officer Josh Armstrong who was heading to the area came across the suspect running from the wrecked out vehicle in the 5900 block of Summerhill Rd.

Armstrong caught up to Burris and took him into custody following brief struggle and the use of OC.  Burris was charged with Evading Arrest, Resisting Arrest, and an Arkansas Parole Violation warrant.
