TASD crowns 2018-2019 Miss AHS and Miss NHJH

The Miss Arkansas High School and Miss North Heights Junior High pageant crowned its two winners on Saturday, March 30.

Tamara Biddle was crowned Miss Arkansas High School. Tamara is the daughter of Anthony and Tammy Biddle. She is 17 years old, and a senior at Arkansas High School. Tamara is a member of the National Honor Society and an AP Scholar. She has been a straight A student throughout her school career. In 2018, she was selected as a Las Amigas Debutante. She is an American Legion Girls State Delegate, and a recipient of the Character 1st Award which allowed her to participate in the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Conference.

Tamara has been a Redline member for 4 years, serving as a line member her Freshman year, a Lieutenant her Sophomore year, and Captain for both Junior and Senior years. This year she was selected to be a member of the Arkansas Activities Association All Star Dance Team. Tamara is also an All-Conference 3rd year soccer player.

Outside of school, Tamara is a Junior Volunteer at Christus St. Michael Hospital. She has participated in many community service events such as Race for the Cure, Apraxia Walk, Live United Bowl, Night to Shine, and Special Olympics.

Tamara has also volunteered with Sparks in the Park, participated in the Black History Parade with her church, and volunteered to help in school events such as the TASD Fishing Derby and Fall Festival.

Tamara loves to dance, tumble, play soccer, hang out with her friends, shop and eat.

Kynlee Garett was crowned Miss North Heights Junior High School. Kynlee is the daughter of Eddie Garrett and Mesha Oliver. She is 13 years old, and a 7th grader at North Heights Junior High School.

Kynlee is a great student and proves that by maintaining a place on the academic honor roll. She is also a member of the National Junior Honor Society. She is an active athlete and participates in multiple school sports such as volleyball, basketball, and track. She was a member of the 7th grade pep squad, and will be cheering on her fellow athletes this next year as an 8th grade cheerleader.

Kynlee attends Beech Street First Baptist Church, and is an active member of the youth group there. She loves to hang out with her friends, cheer, and tumble.
