
UAHT James Black School to Offer X-Rhea Knife Course with Master Bladesmith Lin Rhea
Hope/Texarkana, AR – The University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana’s James Black School of Bladesmithing and Historic Trades will offer an X-Rhea Knife Course October 22–24, 2026, at the school in Historic Washington, Arkansas.
Renowned bladesmith Lin Rhea will teach the three-day course, which will meet from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day. The course costs $450.
Participants will receive hands-on instruction while learning techniques associated with the distinctive X-Rhea knife design. The course is designed for individuals who want to strengthen their bladesmithing skills, expand their knowledge of traditional forging techniques, or continue developing their craftsmanship.
Rhea is a Master Bladesmith known for his hand-forged knives and for developing the X-Rhea knife, a unique one-piece forged carbon steel design. The knife reflects traditional blacksmithing techniques while giving participants the chance to develop precision, hammer control and advanced forging skills.
The course will be held at the James Black School of Bladesmithing and Historic Trades, 412 Lawrence Street, Washington, Arkansas.
