Bruce Roland Jordan, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on July 23, 1946, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Bruce was the beloved son of the late Walter and Leona Jordan. He is fondly remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his country, and his community.
Bruce grew up in Haviland, Ohio, where he graduated from Blue Creek High School. Following his graduation, he answered the call of duty and served his country with honor as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. His role as a non-commissioned officer in the Provost Marshal's Office (PMO) was a testament to his leadership and commitment to service.
On March 8, 1967, Bruce married the love of his life, Brenda L. Gaines, in a beautiful ceremony in Atlanta, Texas. Their union was blessed with a loving family, including their now departed daughter, LaTonja Jordan. Bruce was a devoted father and grandfather, cherishing every moment spent with his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife Brenda, his loving siblings Reginald and Paul Jordan, and a legacy carried on by his grandchildren Dey'Marion, Zay'Mari, Jay'Karious, Ley'Maryea Watson, Kayaira, Damian, Raiden, and Luna Elliott. Although Bruce was a grandfather to three, he was a great-grandfather to eight, all of whom brought immense joy to his life.
Bruce was predeceased by his parents, his brother Walter Jordan Jr., his sister Joyce Truitt, and his daughter LaTonja. Despite these profound losses, Bruce's resilience and strength were sources of inspiration to all who knew him.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Veterans Affairs team, Marleta and staff, for their unwavering support, which allowed them to cherish every special day with Bruce. A special thanks is also extended to the Gentiva team for their compassionate care and to Sandy and her team, whose kindness and faithfulness made them feel like family. Your dedication did not go unnoticed, and the family is forever grateful for your loving care.
In accordance with Bruce's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor his life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in memory of Bruce's generous spirit.
Bruce Roland Jordan's life was a testament to love, service, and family. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy will continue to inspire and guide those who knew him. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love of those who have gone before him.
