Bryan Jeffrey Griffin, M.D., age 70, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025. He was born on October 1, 1955, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Barbara Ann and Oscar Ray Griffin.
Bryan’s family moved to Texas when he was just nine months old, and he proudly called Texas home for the remainder of his life. He graduated from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine and completed his residency in Pathology at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. During his residency, he met his future wife, Glenda, while she was working in the Bacteriology Lab.
Following the completion of his residency, Bryan and Glenda moved to Texarkana, where he dedicated nearly 40 years of service to CHRISTUS St. Michael Hospital. He was recently honored for this milestone and served the hospital faithfully in several leadership roles, including Chief of Staff, as well as serving at CHRISTUS St. Michael Rehabilitation Hospital.
Bryan was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Texarkana, where he taught Sunday School for many years. He was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time at the farm hunting, tending the garden, caring for his horses and cats, and—though somewhat reluctantly—helping Glenda with her bees. Above all else, Bryan treasured time spent with his grandchildren, Richard Dean Griffin and Charlotte Renee Griffin.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Glenda Gail Gregory Griffin; children, Lindsey Morgan Griffin and Jordan Bryan Griffin and wife, Kayla Renee Griffin; a host of other family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
The funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, December 29, 2025, at First Baptist Church, Atrium with Brother Bryan Bixler officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2025, from 6:00-8:00 at Texarkana Funeral Home- Texas.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Texarkana, Sylinda Battle, and Terri Ramage for their compassionate care and support.
