Christopher Curry

August 19, 1951 – September 23, 2026

Mr. Christopher Curry, 75, of Waldo, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at Hospice Home Care in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was a beloved son, brother, father and grandfather. He was a proud U.S. Army Veteran, but most importantly, he was a Christian who was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Waldo, Arkansas.

He was born to the late Mr. Courtney Curry and the late Mrs. Ruby Pearl Smith-Curry on August 19, 1951. He spent his formative years in Waldo and went to Westside High School. He left school in 1971 to join the Army, with service in the Republic of Vietnam, and went on to serve honorably until 1976.

He was preceded in death by both parents, his wife, and three brothers, James Curry, Jimmy Curry and Douglas Curry. He is survived by his three daughters, Tina Curry, Tena (John) Joiner and Ashley Curry, all of Dallas, Texas; three sisters, Ms. Mary Ann Jackson, Ms. Linda Johnston and Mrs. Carolyn (James) Sellers, all of Dallas, Texas; and four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Curry was a retired truck driver. After retiring, he spent a large amount of time listening to gospel and blues music and playing guitar.

His service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, October 2, 2026, at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 714 West Jackson Street, Waldo, Arkansas 71770, where Pastor Hal Prevoe will serve as Officiant and Eulogist. Public viewing will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026, from 11:45 A.M. until 12:45 P.M. at St. John Baptist Church. Interment will be immediately following his service at Smith Cemetery, 842 Columbia County Road 27 North, Waldo, Arkansas, with military honors.

Masks are optional but highly recommended.
