The family of Mildred Elizabeth (Mickey) Loomis is saddened to announce her passing. Mickey filled her life with love for children, cats, and birds. Jonquils, irises, and roses flourished wherever she resided. She treasured history and was a masterful storyteller.
Born in Riverside, California on March 8, 1940, Mickey is preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Ollie Loomis, her siblings, Sidney Loomis and Ina Phelps, and her grandson, Ryan May.
She is survived by her children, Melanie Ernest, Sarah Honey, Sydney Clark, and Jo Helen Murphy, along with a host of grand and great grandchildren.
Mickey left for her heavenly home in the early morning hours of Friday, September 4, 2026. Especially in her later years, she touched the hearts of a multitude of caregivers. “I love you, love you, love you” were often the first and last words said to each nurse, aid, food service provider, and tech. She was a ready witness to Jesus and prayed without ceasing for her children, grandchildren, caregivers, and many friends.
The family thanks the staff of Reunion Plaza and Hospice Texarkana for their compassion, love, and care.
A celebration of life will be held for her at Fellowship Bible Church of Texarkana, Texas on Friday, September 18, 2026 at 4pm.
