Oval “Sunny” Morgason, age 86, of Texarkana, Arkansas, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, July 17, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Mr. Morgason was born on January 5, 1940, in Genoa, Arkansas, and was a lifelong resident of Texarkana. Sunny was a finish carpenter and a true master of his trade. His exceptional craftsmanship, attention to detail, and dedication to quality were evident in every project he completed. He was a perfectionist in every sense of the word, striving for excellence in every task he undertook. Sunny lived according to his values, standing firm in his beliefs while treating others with honesty, fairness, and respect. He was a man of deep faith, which guided him throughout his life. He loved his family wholeheartedly and found his greatest joy in spending time with them. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, where his creativity, patience, and attention to detail truly shone. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was a huge supporter of the veterans who sacrificed so much. Sunny attended Faith Assembly of God Church in Texarkana, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-four years, Eyvonne Morgason.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Chuck Nesbitt of Fayetteville, Arkansas; two sons and one daughter-in-law, David Morgason of Texarkana, Arkansas; and Michael and Kristin Morgason of Texarkana, Arkansas; one sister, Katherine Milholland; six grandchildren, Mary Bush, Randy Morgason, Brad Morgason, Brittany Miller, Amanda Sturdivant, and Ashley Woodruff; thirteen great-grandchildren and a host of friends and other relatives.
Graveside services will be on Monday, July 20, 2026, at 10 AM at Memorial Gardens with Pastor Tyler Reed officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas.
