Willene Akin, age 96, of Texarkana, Texas, died September 23, 2026, in a local hospice facility.
Mrs. Akin was born December 29, 1929 in Hooks, Texas. She retired from Texarkana National Bank, member of the Non-Denominational Church and member of the Master Gardeners Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, McKinney Akin and by two sons, William McKinney Akin and George Akin.
She is survived by six grandchildren, Chris Akin and wife Megan, J.B. Flowers and wife Nancy, Regina Lederhos and husband Adam, Tiffany Griggs and husband Jason, Lacey Corbit and husband Adam and Collin Akin and wife Tess; one daughter-in-law, Judy Akin and seventeen great grandchildren and numerous other relatives.
A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, September 28, 2026, at the Northwood Moores Chapel Cemetery under direction of Chapelwood Funeral Home. There will be a celebration following the graveside at 8024 W. 7th street, across from the first biker’s church.
