Thirteen Texas High School student-athletes officially signed National Letters of Intent to continue their athletic and academic careers at the collegiate level during a Winter Signing Day ceremony held Wednesday, February 4, 2026.
The athletes represent baseball, basketball, football, and swimming programs and will attend colleges and universities across the region.
Eight football players signed with Texas A&M-Texarkana: CJ Akins, Blake Banks, Eshayland Cooper, Markus Hall, Shavante Montgomery, Xavier Powell, LD Richardson, and Peyton Walker.
Three basketball players also committed to continue their careers, with Sereniti Collins and Taryne Stiger signing with Texas A&M-Texarkana and Treshure Martin signing with Tyler Junior College.
Caden Criner signed to play baseball at SAU Tech, while Caleb Lauterbach will swim for Ouachita Baptist University.
“We are excited to celebrate these 13 Tiger athletes as they take the next step in their academic and athletic careers,” said Coach Gerry Stanford, TISD Athletic Director. “This group represents the dedication, talent, and character that define our programs. Their hard work, leadership, and commitment to excellence, both on and off the field, set the standard for future generations of Texas High athletes.”
The ceremony, attended by family members, friends, coaches, and teammates, marked the culmination of years of dedication both in the classroom and in competition.
