TEXARKANA, TEXAS-In conjunction with EMS Appreciation week; McDonald’s locations in Texarkana, USA, Ashdown, AR, Atlanta, TX, and Leary, TX will provide free meals for all first responders on Wednesday may 24th between 5 a.m. and 11 p.m., McDonalds Texarkana owner Jason Sadowski said. During this time period, all first responders including EMS, all law enforcement and firefighters can come into any of the above mentioned McDonald’s locations for a free meal. The free meal for first responders promotion is sponsored by McDonald’s, LifeNet, Texarkana Emergency Center and Fox Sports Radio 1400.

The idea to honor first responders during EMS appreciation week was the brainchild of Dr. Matt Young, owner of Texarkana Emergency Center.

“We are excited to support those who protect, service and care for our community,” Dr. Young said.

The local owner of McDonald’s locations in the Texarkana area said he’s giving away the free meals because he’s grateful for all first responders.

“I think that it’s important to thank all first responders for their hard work and service to our community and we are happy to serve them a complimentary meal this Wednesday,” Jason Sadowski, owner of Texarkana area McDonald’s locations said. “It’s the least we can do.”

To help draw awareness to the event; Fox Sports Radio 1400 will broadcast live from 3 of the Texarkana area McDonald’s locations where they will be giving away free Texas Rangers tickets and other Texas Rangers prizes. The live remotes will be at the McDonald’s at 4929 North Stateline Avenue in Texarkana, TX, from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m., at the McDonald’s at 711 E. 7th St., Texarkana, AR, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., and at the McDonald’s located at 4411 W. 7th St., Texarkana, TX, from 4 p.m.- 6p.m.

The Mayors of both Texarkana cities, Bob Bruggeman from Texarkana, Tx., and Ruth Penney Bell from Texarkana, Ark., are expected to make a proclamation declaring May 24th, EMS Appreciation Day in the cities of Texarkana. They are expected to arrive at the McDonald’s location at 4929 North Stateline Avenue via a LifeNet Helicopter on May 24th, at approximately 7:15 a.m.
