The winter weather is impacting schedules across the Texarkana area. While announcements are just starting to roll in, here is what has been confirmed so far:
Texarkana Airport – All American Airline fights have been canceled starting with the Friday evening flight lasting until at least the Sunday morning flight, likely longer.
Community Water Forum – rescheduled to Monday, February 2nd, from 5:30 pm- 7:30 pm at the Southwest Center.
The African Children’s Choir: Tentative re-schedule for Tuesday, January 27
Ultimate Elvis Concert – NEW DATE: Saturday, April 11, 2026 TIME: 7:30 PM
T-Line Transit System – Will suspend all service Saturday, January 25th due to hazardous road conditions.
SCHOOLS
Texarkana College – Closing its campus starting Friday at 4 p.m. through Monday due to severe winter weather. Monday classes will move online, and all campus facilities including the library and rec center will be closed.
Pleasant Grove ISD – Postponed kindergarten registration event to Saturday, February 1st from 3:30-5:30 p.m. at Margaret Fischer Davis Elementary. The event is for families with children entering kindergarten in Fall 2026, including both in-district and out-of-district families.
Texas High School – Experience THS event scheduled for Monday, January 26 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the CTE 1 Building will proceed if school is in session. If weather forces a closure Monday, the event will be rescheduled to Monday, February 2 at the same time. The event offers families an opportunity to tour facilities and explore academics, clubs, and activities.
Texas A&M Texarkana – John F. Moss Library will be closed Saturday, January 24 and Sunday, January 25. The library will monitor university announcements for Monday status.
HEALTHCARE
Lifeshare Blood Center – All donor centers will be closed and all mobile drives canceled Sunday, January 25.
Texarkana Family Healthcare – Closed Saturday, January 24.
UAMS Family Medical Center Texarkana – Will be closed Monday, January 26. Patients can call for nurse assistance or use MyChart to contact the office. Patients with Monday appointments will be contacted to convert to telehealth or reschedule.
RESTAURANTS
Chick-fil-A Richmond Road – Closed Friday at 4 p.m.
Crossties Event Venue – Closed Friday and Saturday, January 24-25.
Dixie Diner – Closing Friday at 7 p.m., closed Saturday. Sunday status to be determined.
Fat Jacks Bar and Grill – Canceled weekend live music featuring Coby Wynn and Hailey Wright, which will be rescheduled. The bar plans to remain open but may close depending on conditions.
Gusano’s Chicago-Style Pizzeria – Closed Saturday and Sunday, January 25-26.
Julie’s Deli – Closed Saturday, January 24.
Naaman’s BBQ – Closed Saturday, January 24.
On the Border – Closed Saturday and Sunday, January 25-26.
Taco Tico – Closing Friday at 4 p.m. and will remain closed Saturday and Sunday.
Tacos 4 Life – Closing Friday at 7 p.m.
Taziki’s Mediterranean Cafe – Texarkana location closing early Friday at 5 p.m. and will remain closed Saturday and Sunday, January 25-26.
Twisted Fork – Closing early Friday at 7:30 p.m.
OTHER SERVICES
Commercial National Bank – All Texarkana branches will be closed Saturday, January 24.
Guaranty Bank & Trust – Closed Saturday, January 24.
Miller Bowie Supply – Closed Saturday, January 24.
Regional Arts Center and TRAHC’s ArtSpace – Both locations, including the ArtSpace at 518 Pine Street, will be closed this weekend.
State Bank – Closed Saturday, January 24.
CHURCHES
Church on the Rock Texarkana – Canceled in-person worship services Sunday. Online services will be available at 8:30 a.m., 10:15 a.m., and noon via Facebook, YouTube, the COTR app, and the church website.
First Baptist Church Texarkana – Canceled Saturday night prayer service (Jan. 25), Sunday school classes (Jan. 26), and postponed membership class to February 1st and Ladies’ Cooking Night to February 2nd. Sunday morning worship service status will be determined Saturday based on road conditions.
Hardy Memorial Methodist Church – Canceled in-person worship services Sunday. Online service will be available at 10:45 a.m.
Northside Church – Canceled in-person worship services Sunday.
