TISD Gifted & Talented Academy students advance to State Destination Imagination Tournament

Seven student members of the TISD Gifted & Talented Academy have advanced to the state Destination Imagination tournament to be held on April 8 in Lubbock, TX.  It is expected that a total of 226 elementary teams will participate at the top level.

 

The team, consisting of 3rd – 5th grade students, received First Place in the Fine Arts Central Challenge category and received the highest, overall Instant Challenge score at the East Texas Destination Imagination Regional Tournament held earlier in the semester.  A total of 171 team competed in the competition – 85 in the elementary division.

 

Destination Imagination is a volunteer-led, educational non-profit organization that teaches 21st century skills and STEM principles to kindergarten through university level students through creative and collaborative problem solving challenges.  Teams of student showcase their solutions at regional, state and global tournaments.
