Texarkana, Ark. fire responded to the Southwest Arkansas Community Correction Center around 3 P.M Thursday. According to workers that had been evacuated there was smoke on the second floor.
There was no sign of fire from the exterior of the building.
All the prisoners and staff were evacuated to an adjoining parking lot and tennis court.. TAPD Officers setup a permitter and closed off streets to contain the prisoners.
TAFD is still on scene investigating.
