The 2014 CASA Operation Playhouse at Summerhill Square, benefiting CASA for Children, will run Friday, December 5 through Sunday December 14.

Established in 1990, CASA for Children is a private nonprofit organization of volunteers who serve as voices in court for abused and neglected children. Much needed volunteers are trained to make recommendations that help judges decide what is best for each child. CASA volunteers ensure that abused and neglected children have the best chance of finding safe, permanent homes where they can thrive.

With the help of this year’s Kingdom Sponsor, E-Z Mart, the 8th annual event will feature 5 children’s playhouses created by local builders, companies, volunteers and students. This year’s playhouse designs include a Dome playhouse, a Cinderella Castle, a Log Cabin, a Creative Climbing Cube and a playhouse with a modern twist. CASA would also like to thank Parks Jewelers and Schimming Company Commercial Real Estate for making this fun family event possible.

All it takes to win a playhouse is to buy a raffle ticket or bid on the playhouse of your dreams. Raffle tickets are $5 each or five for $20 and can be purchased at the CASA Playhouse Village in Summerhill Square, select Summerhill Square merchants, Park’s Jewelers or online at www.casatexarkana.org/playhouseticket.

CASA will announce the kick-off of Operation Playhouse and their “Blue Kid” Volunteer Recruitment and Community Awareness Campaign in a press conference at the playhouse village on December 6th at 10:00am. The drawing to announce the playhouse winners will take place during the event finale at 4:00pm, December 14. Raffle winners need not be present to win, however it is recommended that silent auction playhouse bidders be present.

Operation Playhouse makes a lifelong difference in the lives of children CASA represents and helps stop the cycle of abuse and neglect for generations to come.
