Search crews have spent all day looking for a missing Little River County man after his parents were rescued this morning in the community of Richmond around 15 miles west of Ashdown, Arkansas.
According to Little River County officials Steve and Dee Dee Ward were found clinging to a gate in the flood water of the Red River early Thursday morning. Their son, Dogan Ward, is still missing.
A family member reported the family missing to Little River County Sheriff’s Office Thursday morning and first responders were on scene by 7 a.m.
An Arkansas State Police helicopter, multiple boats, and 50 plus people have spent the day searching for Ward.
Little River County Sheriff Gary Gregory is asking everyone to stay out of the river and off of local roadways that are blocked or covered with water unless they are working for law enforcement or game and fish agencies.
